FAQ

1. Listening

Do you assist seniors with relocations?

Yes, we advise and support seniors and their family members with relocations. Starting with the planning, through the entire implementation, to the follow-up. We have a holistic approach.

We have extensive experience with senior citizen removals, covering more or less every conceivable aspect. First of all, it is important to be aware that such a project places a great strain on the elderly people directly affected, and sometimes also on their family members. It is not just a matter of downsizing a household and packing it into boxes. For those directly involved, it is a life-changing event that involves fears of loss and uncertainty about the future. It is our job to cushion this mental strain. The move itself is a craft and only describes a fixed date at the end of the project.

Every project is based on an initial consultation with the customer. The aim is to assess the current situation, the customer’s wishes and needs, and the time frame. We obtain an overall picture, on the basis of which we then offer the best service package for the customer and their requirements. The customer can define the level of service themselves using individually designed service modules. Our solutions are not off-the-shelf. They are always as individual as the lives of our customers.

It is in the nature of things that large households require more effort. However, this is not relevant in terms of planning, because you have to approach the task with the same meticulousness, ask the same questions and make the same decisions, regardless of whether the household is large or small. We have already completed projects where 850 sq. ft. involved more work than 2500 sq. ft.

The transport of high-value furnishings and art objects is part of our customers’ daily requirements. No matter how short the transport route may be, it must be ensured that the removal goods arrive safely and undamaged from A to B. This also requires that the employees of the removal company are familiar with the handling and transport of these items. Just wrapping plants and things in stretch film is not our standard. If necessary, custom-made wooden crates are used or specialised transport companies (piano transport, climate-controlled transport, live animal transport, valuable goods transport) are brought in to assist with the project.

Sufficient lead time helps a lot but is not always possible. In many cases the customers have not chosen the timing themselves, but rather it has been influenced by changing circumstances. We generally plan all projects backwards from the target date. All processes and service partners are then aligned and coordinated accordingly.

We are regularly confronted with situations where close family members or relatives have taken on or been assigned the task of coordinating the project on the customer’s side. However, the days when most of them lived in the same place, city or even country are long gone. Senior citizen removals are a matter of trust, so it goes without saying that we bridge the geographical distance for our customers.

Senior citizen removals increasingly have tax implications. We offer our services throughout Germany. We also cover other European countries, including the UK. Other countries will be on request.

2. Status Quo

We don't have an overview of everything that's in the house. What would you recommend?

In general, but especially for larger households, it is advisable to draw up a complete inventory. Not only does it provide a complete overview of the household, which is often underestimated in terms of detail and value, but this list is also a central document that supports the necessary decisions about what to take with you, what to sell, what to dispose of and what to store. This is particularly helpful when decisions have to be made between several parties, e.g. family members, in different locations.

Decisions about the further use of household goods are generally made by the customer or their authorised representative. Leaving behind beloved items, often associated with many memories, is very difficult for those affected. It feels like a total loss. It is understandable that as many beloved items as possible should be taken along into the new phase of life. Spatial limitations often stand in the way of this. It is not uncommon for customers to move from over 2000 sq. ft. of living space to significantly smaller flats. This means that the new home becomes a key parameter in determining what can and cannot be taken with them. This means that plans for the new home should be finalised before further considerations are made.

Our comprehensive consulting and project management services naturally also include solutions for disposal, sale and donation.

We can assist with the sale of a property at the customer’s request. However, the entire process can only be handled with the assistance of a reputable real estate agency. We do not provide direct real estate agency services or legal/notarial advice.

3. Documents

Can you organise my parents' papers and documents?

It is not uncommon to find important documents scattered around the house in no particular order (family documents, certificates, bank and insurance papers, contracts, etc.). We offer our clients comprehensive document management as part of our service package.

4. Premium living

Do you know of any high-quality retirement homes in Germany, Europe and further abroad?

Yes, we have our own database of high-quality retirement homes in Germany, Europe and around the globe. We have visited many of these homes to see for ourselves whether they really live up to the PREMIUM standard advertised in brochures and on websites. PREMIUM is not a protected term, and everyone defines it differently.

As part of our project support service, we arrange viewing appointments at the customer’s request, organise transport if required, and prepare a report to assist with the decision-making process.

5. Interior & Design

Can you also help with furnishing the new flat?

The actual move into the new home should be preceded by basic planning for the future furnishings. We offer this service to our customers. Based on true-to-scale room plans, we draw up possible furnishing plans for customers. The location of sockets, windows and radiators, as well as ceiling heights and door widths, are taken into account in the plans. These plans improve the overall moving process and give the customer the feeling that they are moving into a flat that is furnished according to their ideas. Any necessary preparatory work has already been completed at this stage.

6. Service providers

Do you carry out the removals yourself?

We always implement removal projects with professional removal companies and all the service providers necessary for the project’s success. The order is placed by the customer. Our task is to coordinate all necessary service providers and ensure high-quality implementation. The customer has us as their central point of contact for all matters. They receive the project from a single source. Obtaining quotes, reviewing them and processing them are naturally part of the service.

7. Time

Can you take care of the tasks for us? We don't have time for them.

One of our key tasks in project management is to free up time for our customers. To relieve them of the time burden. The time required and the associated physical strain are often underestimated.

8. Costs & Controlling

Do you offer fixed prices?

All customers receive individualised offers tailored to their initial situation, wishes and needs. The offers are divided into service modules. Customers can put together their own service modules and thus determine their own level of service. It goes without saying that we adhere to the costs agreed with our customers. Should additional costs arise due to unforeseen circumstances, these will be authorised by the customer.

9. More

Can we continue to use your services after the move?

Our services are of course available to customers at any time, even after the move is complete.
